These places have become the must go place for anyone who is into surfing. And yeah the waves are great and the beaches amazing. Do not miss Playa Hermosa and Manzanillo.
Montezuma is traditionally known as the hippy town of the area although the escalating prices for food & accommodations have changed a bit the type of tourists visiting Montezuma. When you visit Montezuma, make sure to visit the wonderful waterfalls and stroll along the beach all the way to the beautiful Playa Grande
On the way to Cabuya from Montezuma, you will find the nice beaches of Playa las Manchas and Playa Los Cedros which are less crowded than Montezuma beaches.. If you are in Costa Rica for its nature and animals, make sure you visit Cabo Blanco, preferably early morning to see as many birds and animals as possible. We fell in love with Cabo Blanco and its white-sand beach where you can swim next to the pelicans.
Mainly known for its beach resorts: Los Delfines, Barcelo Tambor Beach and Tango Mar and its wonderful bay: Bahia Ballena.
If you want to get away from the touristic life and enjoy a bit of Tico's life, make sure you stop at Cobano, the commercial hub of the Peninsula. If you are around at the beginning of February, you will have the opportunity to celebrate the Fiestas Civicas, the typical town party which includes horse shows and bull fighting.
